About Keri
Keri Kruspe is a science fiction romance and romantasy author specializing in alien romance, paranormal fantasy, and emotionally-driven love stories set in faraway galaxies. Based in northwestern Michigan, Keri has published 16 novels and novellas, including the popular Alien Legacy Brotherhood series and is currently writing The Warden of Shadow's End, a romantasy trilogy featuring older heroines and sentient magic.
Her novels transport readers to faraway galaxies and fantastical worlds filled with ancient secrets, alien intrigue, mythical mysteries along with unforgettable love stories. Known for her rich world-building and emotionally driven characters, Keri’s stories explore what it means to be human—even when the heroes and heroines are anything but. When she’s not imagining psychic powers or sentient non-organic entities, she’s connecting with readers who love romance with an otherworldly twist.
So... why romance?
Here, Keri explains in her own words:
"I write romances because the world can be unbearably dark filled with cruelty disguised as virtue, betrayals wrapped in smiles, and endless noise that drowns out kindness. Joy feels rare, and peace even rarer. Each day can feel like a battle just to hold on to hope.
I create to push back against that darkness. To carve out a space where love still matters, where laughter lives, and where passion—the deep, soul-stirring kind—has room to breathe. A place where readers can escape, if only for a little while, and remember what it feels like to believe in something good.
Romance reminds us we are more than our wounds. That even in the ugliest places, beauty can bloom. That love, in all its forms, is still the bravest thing we do—not just for ourselves, but for the whole of humanity.
Please join me on this journey to unimaginable places. Where you can explore captivating worlds and heartwarming romances that will leave you breathless at every turn of the page. I can't wait to share with you the adventurous stories I write about that showcase brave heroes and heroines who are not afraid to take a chance on love or life."

Just When the Story Should Have Ended...
For most people, retirement means slowing down. But for me, it meant finally speeding toward a dream I carried since childhood—becoming a full-time author. After decades in banking, raising a family, and navigating life’s many twists and turns, I reached a point where I could choose passion over paychecks. That choice set me free to write the adventurous, emotionally charged romances that had been waiting inside me all along.

Book One: The Forgotten Portal
(Coming summer of 2026)
Keri wanted to do something a bit different in the Romantasy genre. Instead of the heroine (Elara Greystone) being a younger woman, she is a little older. A woman approaching her forties with a load of emotional baggage that has become a heavy burden. She was married to a man who emotionally abused her until all that was left of her was a shadow of her former self.
Even her adult daughter refused to have anything to do with her, claiming she had to protect her own child from being exposed to that type of environment. Even when Elara's husband recently died, her daughter refused to see her.
Despondent, Elara decided to sell her house in Phoenix and drive up the coast to find a new life. On a whim, she drives into an Oregon coastal town. There she falls in love with an old, neglected Victorian house situated on a coastal cliff called "Shadows End".
Determined to see one of her secret dreams come true, she works on creating a small bookstore on the first floor filled with only romance novels. To give the shopper a different experience, she plans on it having separate theme rooms in the romance genre: Historical, Contemporary, and Paranormal.
During the renovation, she expects dust, drafty windows, and maybe a ghost or two. What she didn't expect is a living house, a sentient grimoire, and a seductive contractor who’s definitely more than he seems.
Unknown to her at the beginning, in the stone basement lies a crack in the Veil—a shimmering boundary that separates our world from one teeming with forgotten fae, shadow beasts, and ancient mythical secrets. When she finds herself as the newly awakened Warden, Elara is the only thing standing between Earth and the chaos waiting beyond.
But the Veil isn’t just breaking—it’s being targeted. Someone from Earth wants to invade the other side, and Elara must choose whether to open her mind to a world beyond reason… or run from the life-altering power awakening inside her.
An ancient destiny. A dangerous desire.
One Elara cannot escape from and time is running out.
The once forgotten portal is waking.
